Originality of Manuscript, Ethical Policy and Copyright

EMSA (European Medical Students’ Association) and the editor do not hold themselves responsible for the statements made, or the views put forward in the various articles and papers. Medical knowledge is constantly changing. The authors and the editor, as far as it is possible, have taken care to ensure that the information given in this text is accurate and up-to-date. However, readers are strongly advised to confirm that the information is correct. Despite judicious efforts errors may have crept in and EMSA, the editor and the publisher do not accept responsibility for this.

JEMSA encourages its contributors and reviewers to adopt the standards of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. JEMSA will not consider papers that have been accepted for publication or published elsewhere. Copies of existing manuscripts with potentially overlapping or duplicative material should be submitted together with the manuscript, so that the Editors can judge suitability for publication. The Editors reserve the right to reject a paper on ethical grounds. For investigations involving humans, the consent of patients and approval of the protocol by an ethical committee should be confirmed. Authors should disclose to the editors any financial or commercial interest that they have in products discussed in their manuscript at the time of first submission, by answering the conflict of interest question during the submission process and with a statement in the Acknowledgments section of the manuscript.

JEMSA, including all individual contributions and illustrations published there in, is legally protected by copyright for the duration of the copyright period. Any use, exploitation or commercialisation outside narrow limits set by copyright legislation, without the publishers’ consent, is illegal and liable to criminal prosecution. This applies in particular to photostat reproduction, copying, cyclostyling, mimeographing or duplication of any kind, translating, preparation of microfilms, and electronic data processing or storage. Apart from any fair dealing for the purposes of research or private study, or criticism or review as permitted under the European copyright, design and patent laws, no part of this publication may be reproduced, stored, or transmitted, in any form or by any means, without the prior permission in writing of the editor, the article writers and the EEB (EMSA European Board).
